I am a chef, and a ceramic artist and I write poetry in my spare time. One of my poems can be read in my second book “ The Six Macs and the Purple Orb”

I have always enjoyed writing stories even though I am Dyslexic. I remember one of my teachers at secondary school suggesting that I should become a writer because I had such a vivid imagination.

My serious writing started 10 years ago when I wrote a story called “Puss the Wuss Looses His Meow” after breaking my arm. This story has not been published YET.

The reason for writing about six Scottish children called the Six Macs was that I originally wanted to write a series of adventure books that had an environmental theme to them, which I have.

But I was stuck on the character's names every time I thought of an original name some other writer had used it. So I thought if I wrote about Scottish children I could put Mac in front of a name that matched their personality making all of their names original.

My Dyslexia has not gotten in the way of my education, as well as my catering qualifications I have a HND in ceramics and glass and a BA in glass.

At the beginning of my second and third books, it reads;

“As someone with dyslexia, who has always had problems with reading and writing and who is now the author of three novels, I would like to say to anyone with similar difficulties that nothing is impossible. If you really want to do something, go for it! Who knows what you will achieve?”
